Software Engineer II – VALORANT Personalization

About the role

Riot Games is seeking an experienced Software Engineer II to join the VALORANT Personalisation Team in Sydney. You will create player‑focused features that let gamers customise their loadouts, showcase favourite agents, and celebrate earned rewards across PC and console platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and deliver gameplay features and backend services for player personalization.
• Lead projects in collaboration with designers, artists and other engineers, guiding technical decisions from discovery to launch.
• Champion development process improvements and uphold high engineering standards.
• Provide mentorship to junior team members and participate in on‑call rotations to troubleshoot live‑service issues.

Required profile

• 4+ years of professional software development experience.
• 3+ years of hands‑on experience with C++ and/or Unreal Engine.
• Proven ability to collaborate across teams on requirements gathering, planning and release.

Required skills

• C++ programming.
• Unreal Engine development.
• Version control with Perforce or GitHub.
• Experience with real‑time 3D environments and high‑load services.
