Software Engineer – Backend (TypeScript/NestJS)

About the role

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join the Integration Services pillar of Flight Centre Travel Group in South Bank, Queensland. You will design, develop and maintain high‑performance backend services that power our online booking engines and supplier integrations.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement robust backend solutions using TypeScript and the NestJS framework.
• Integrate with multiple data stores such as ElasticSearch, DynamoDB and Amazon S3.
• Write clean, testable code and ensure reliability through unit, integration and contract testing.
• Maintain and improve documentation, coding standards and observability tooling.
• Continuously look for ways to reduce technical debt and enhance performance.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of professional software development experience.
• Proven experience as a Full‑Stack Engineer delivering end‑to‑end applications.
• Strong understanding of modern JavaScript/TypeScript development, testing and debugging.
• Experience deploying applications via CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to design high‑traffic, reliable services in Node.js.
