Software Developer – SaaS Platform for Education

About the role

Global Payments is seeking a Software Developer to join the Sentral team, a cloud‑based platform serving over 3,000 Australian schools. You will help build and enhance SaaS solutions that streamline student administration and improve classroom outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and deliver new product features that add real value for schools.
• Maintain and optimise existing applications to ensure high performance and reliability.
• Implement automated testing and continuous improvement practices.
• Stay up‑to‑date with emerging technologies to keep the platform modern and scalable.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and stakeholders to align solutions with customer needs.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of commercial software development experience in an enterprise SaaS environment.
• Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Proactive, organised and a team‑player with a problem‑solving mindset.

Required skills

• Proficiency in PHP.
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript and Angular.
• Experience with MySQL databases.
• Understanding of OOP, MVC design patterns and agile development practices.
