Engineering Manager

About the role

We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead one or more cross‑functional squads within the SAP domain of Mable, a fast‑growing Australian health‑tech platform. You will be responsible for delivering high‑quality engineering outcomes while fostering team health and growth.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and own delivery outcomes, engineering quality and health of SAP squads.
• Partner with Product Management to maintain a healthy backlog, align priorities and sequence work sustainably.
• Manage performance and development of direct reports through regular 1:1s, feedback and growth plans.
• Coordinate a broad stakeholder group, escalating and resolving delivery risks and aligning cross‑functional teams.
• Champion modern engineering practices such as TDD, CI/CD and trunk‑based development.
• Contribute to technical decisions on architecture, non‑functional requirements and tooling alongside senior engineers.
• Identify and remove bottlenecks in skills, processes and tooling at squad and domain level.
• Develop sufficient SAP platform knowledge to guide delivery decisions and assess technical complexity.
