Software Developer / Engineer – Maritime EW Systems

About the role

Raytheon Australia is seeking a motivated Software Developer/Engineer to join the Maritime Electronic Warfare (EW) Mission System team. You will work in a SAFe environment, applying modern development practices to deliver high‑impact software for Australia’s defence mission.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse, design and develop microservices‑based, containerised applications using a fully automated CI/CD pipeline.
• Collaborate with Scrum Master and Product Owner to deliver features that meet the definition of done.
• Plan and execute sprints and program increments, continuously improving value flow.
• Implement Test‑Driven Development (TDD) and automated test frameworks to embed quality.
• Provide requirements, design, verification and validation support for assigned projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in software design, development and testing.
• Proven experience working in Scrum teams; SAFe experience is a plus.
• Strong background on Linux platforms and UML design modelling.
• Ability to apply design patterns and develop in mainstream object‑oriented languages.
