Software Developer – Cloud Platform for Schools

About the role

Join Sentral's technology team to develop and evolve a cloud‑based platform used by over 3,000 schools across Australia. You will build new product features, maintain existing applications, and ensure high performance for teachers, administrators and students.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver new product features that add real value for schools.
• Enhance and maintain existing applications to keep them performant and reliable.
• Implement testing, refinement and continuous improvement processes.
• Stay ahead of technology trends to keep products modern, scalable and future‑ready.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to ensure solutions meet customer needs.
• Contribute to a culture of learning, knowledge‑sharing and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• 3+ years of commercial software development experience in an enterprise SaaS environment.
• Proficiency in PHP, JavaScript, Angular and MySQL.
• Strong understanding of software design patterns such as OOP and MVC.
• Familiarity with agile ways of working and iterative delivery.
• Excellent communication skills to explain technical ideas clearly.
• Problem‑solving mindset, curiosity for new technologies, organised and proactive team player.
