Social Volunteer Companion

About the role

HammondCare, an independent Christian charity supporting people to stay in their own homes, is looking for a friendly Social Volunteer to visit a resident in Villawood for one hour each week. The resident enjoys chatting, making new friends, watching game shows and doing crosswords, and would also like occasional shopping trips and lunch out. Visits are scheduled between 9am and 4pm on Monday or Wednesday, and may be fortnightly depending on availability.

Key responsibilities

• Visit the resident once a week for one hour, offering conversation and companionship.
• Share stories and laughter, and support the resident's interests such as games and crosswords.
• Occasionally accompany the resident on shopping trips and lunch outings.

Required profile

• Aged 18 or older.
• National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare.
• Availability for visits on Monday or Wednesday between 9am and 4pm, possibly fortnightly.
