Social Visitor Volunteer – Aged Care

About the role

HammondCare, an independent Christian charity providing the Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme funded by the Australian Government, is looking for a social visitor to spend time with an elderly woman living in residential aged care in Wahroonga. She is creative and reflective, enjoys non-fiction writing, reading, sketching, meditation and calming music, and would like to share meaningful conversations, explore creative interests and enjoy moments of relaxation and self-expression.

Key responsibilities

• Make weekly or fortnightly visits of 1 hour each.
• Visit on Wednesdays between 10am and 11am or 1pm and 4pm.
• Share conversation, creative activities such as sketching, and calm companionship during the visit.

Required profile

• 18 years or older.
• Flexible daytime volunteering.
• An NDIS Worker Screening Check, which HammondCare arranges and pays for.
