About the role
We are looking for a creative Social Media Specialist to join our Melbourne team on a fixed‑term basis. You will plan, create and manage social media content that raises brand awareness, engages our community and drives traffic to our website.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and execute an always‑on social media strategy aligned with Jean Hailes’ objectives.
- Engage with community members, create policies and foster safe conversations about women’s health.
- Maintain the social media calendar in line with strategic priorities.
- Ideate, produce, schedule and publish creative posts across campaigns.
- Coordinate paid social campaigns and content creation with agencies and freelancers.
- Create, shoot and edit short‑form video for social platforms and the website.
- Spot real‑time opportunities and emerging trends to deliver timely content.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to bring ideas to life.
- Report on metrics, trends and KPIs and evaluate performance regularly.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or a related field.
- Significant hands‑on experience managing a brand’s social media presence across platforms such as Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn and YouTube.
- Proven ability to create compelling copy, imagery and short‑form video.
- Strong knowledge of data analytics and reporting.
- Familiarity with scheduling tools (e.g., Meltwater) and design/video editing software.
- Experience in commercial or non‑profit marketing and communications.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse stakeholders.
- Willingness to learn about women’s health and health promotion.
