Social Media Producer, Good Weekend, Traveller and Sunday Life
nine · North Sydney
Job description
About the role
Nine Publishing's Metro division is looking for a social media producer to amplify its lifestyle brands at The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age, with a focus on Good Weekend, Sunday Life and Traveller. The role grows off-platform audience engagement and drives commercial growth through content amplification and partnerships. It is a full-time position within the wider social team, with a regular weekend shift.
Key responsibilities
- Grow audiences for Traveller, Sunday Life and Good Weekend across Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, WhatsApp and YouTube, and manage day-to-day accounts by writing, creating and publishing on-brand content.
- Work with the social, video and lifestyle teams on bespoke vertical video and social content, and with the Heads of Growth and Life on the commercialisation strategy.
- Explore new platforms, audiences and revenue opportunities (for example Snapchat) with the Head of Growth.
- Create bespoke off-platform amplification for premium clients, including branded content, affiliate integration and paid amplification.
- Plan social coverage for special editions with the editorial teams, such as Good Weekend's 52 Weekends Away and Traveller's themed editions.
- Track followers and engagement, use analytics to inform strategy and share performance insights with the Head of Growth and editors.
Required profile
- Proven experience creating content for all social channels (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, WhatsApp, YouTube) and basic filming and video editing skills.
- Experience growing audiences for a comparable brand, with strong writing, grammar and copy-editing skills and an eye for headlines.
- Ability to work at a fast pace, be detail-oriented, experiment and analyse what works.
- Confident presentation skills, including talking to camera and interviewing talent.
- Right to lawfully work and live in Australia.
Required skills
- In-depth knowledge of social platforms, algorithms, scheduling tools and commercial capabilities (branded content, affiliate integration, sponsored content).
- Advanced digital production skills, including copy editing, headline writing and story packaging.
- Image and video editing and graphic design skills are an advantage.
What we offer
- Flexible work options depending on role and team, such as flexible hours, hybrid work or part-time arrangements.
- 18 weeks of paid parental leave.
- Employee Exclusives program with behind-the-scenes access and perks.
- Digital newspaper subscription to the mastheads and an annual Stan gift voucher.
