Social Media Community Coordinator

About the role

The Australian Wildlife Conservancy is seeking a highly organised, community‑minded and creative Social Media Community Coordinator to build and grow one of Australia’s most engaged conservation communities. You will manage online audiences, foster conversations, and turn supporters into advocates for Australian wildlife.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and grow AWC’s social media audiences across Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok and YouTube.
• Moderate communities, respond to enquiries and identify emerging engagement opportunities.
• Plan and produce social‑first content that supports campaigns and showcases threatened species.
• Collaborate with field staff, creators, partners and the Communications team to translate complex conservation stories into compelling content.

Required profile

• Demonstrated capability in managing online communities and audience engagement.
• Experience creating written, visual and short‑form video content for multiple platforms.
• Strong planning, prioritisation and attention‑to‑detail skills.
• Commitment to AWC’s conservation mission and inclusive workplace values.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud and Canva for content creation.
• Familiarity with social media publishing and moderation tools such as Meltwater Engage and Meta Business Suite.
