Social Content Designer (Video)

About the role

Canva is looking for a Social Content Designer (Video) to shape the next generation of short‑form video assets for millions of users. You will translate social media trends into customizable templates, motion graphics and storytelling sequences that creators can publish on platforms such as TikTok, Reels and YouTube Shorts.

Key responsibilities

• Design short‑form video templates, hooks, transitions and story arcs that reflect real platform behaviours.
• Translate cultural and platform trends into usable, customizable creative assets.
• Collaborate with Content Studio, Product and Video teams to ensure alignment and consistency.
• Deliver high‑quality content at pace while balancing craft, scalability and brand guidelines.
• Participate in trend reviews, content forecasting and creative critiques.
• Contribute to experimentation with motion, video editing and AI‑assisted content creation.

Required profile

• Deeply immersed in social platforms and understands why content performs.
• Ability to convert platform trends into templates usable by non‑experts.
• Skilled in video editing, motion design, mobile‑first storytelling and creative pacing.
• Curious about creator culture and the evolving role of short‑form video.
• Collaborative, iterative and comfortable with rapid creative production.
• Motivated by empowering people to express ideas through social content.
