Architect – Cairns

About the role

GHD Design is expanding its architectural presence in Northern Queensland and is looking for an Architect to join the Cairns team. You will work across all project stages, collaborating with multidisciplinary experts to deliver sustainable, high‑quality outcomes for civic, education, transport, defence and infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to design and delivery of projects from concept through to completion.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, designers and technical specialists to develop innovative solutions.
• Prepare and coordinate high‑quality architectural documentation using Revit.
• Engage with clients and stakeholders, building trusted relationships.
• Support and mentor graduate and emerging professionals.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture.
• Minimum three years of Australian architectural experience.
• Registered or able to obtain registration as an Architect in Queensland.
• Strong design capability combined with solid technical and construction knowledge.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Revit for architectural documentation.
• Ability to prepare detailed architectural documentation.
