Site Supervisor – Roads (Surveillance Officer)

About the role

The role is a client‑side position responsible for overseeing quality, compliance and delivery on major road and transport infrastructure projects across regional NSW. You will act as the Surveillance Officer, ensuring works are completed safely, to specification and on schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct on‑site surveillance of electrical, communications and civil construction activities.
• Verify contractor compliance with project specifications, standards and WHS requirements.
• Monitor performance against programme milestones and deliverables.
• Identify, record and manage construction risks, non‑conformances and technical issues.
• Provide expert technical advice to project teams and stakeholders.
• Lead or participate in site and project meetings as required.
• Maintain accurate inspection records, reports and documentation.
• Support continuous improvement by recommending enhancements to construction practices.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Surveillance Officer, Site Engineer, Project Engineer or similar on infrastructure projects.
• Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, communications/network infrastructure and civil construction.
• Experience delivering projects in rail or road environments is highly advantageous.
• Understanding of engineering standards, specifications and compliance frameworks.
• Ability to interpret drawings, technical documents and contract requirements.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Proactive, detail‑oriented problem‑solving approach.
