Site Manager

About the role

SHAPE is seeking an experienced Site Manager to lead the day‑to‑day delivery of fit‑out, refurbishment and new‑build projects across defence, government, education, health and community sectors in Darwin. You will work closely with Project Managers and subcontractors to ensure projects are completed safely, on time and to the required quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all on‑site activities, maintaining a safe working environment and adhering to EHSQ policies.
• Prepare and update short‑ and long‑term construction programmes in collaboration with the Project Manager.
• Lead site inductions, toolbox talks and subcontractor meetings to promote clear communication and safety culture.
• Maintain accurate site documentation, including diaries, progress updates and reporting through SHAPE systems.
• Coordinate subcontractors, monitor site programmes and support resource planning.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of construction experience with at least 2 years in a Site Management role.
• Experience delivering commercial fit‑out projects ranging from $500k to $5M+.
• Strong ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Understanding of head contracts, subcontractor obligations and project delivery processes.
• Collaborative leader who builds positive relationships and promotes team cohesion.
