Site HR Lead (Residential of FIFO)

About the role

A mining business with a strong operational track record across Australia is recruiting a Site HR Lead for its established underground operation in Regional Queensland, which has an experienced leadership team, a stable workforce and a strong site culture. The role reports to the Head of HR for QLD and sits in the site leadership team, covering operational HR, employee relations and workforce support. It is a hands-on leadership position supporting a workforce of about 1,100 employees, working closely with site leaders on day-to-day matters, leadership support, workforce planning and ER/IR activities. The role is based in Brisbane, with residential options in Mt Isa or FIFO from Brisbane or Townsville.

Key responsibilities

• Coach and support frontline and senior leaders
• Provide employee and industrial relations support and case management
• Support performance and conduct matters
• Run workforce engagement initiatives and report on them
• Support leadership capability and team effectiveness, and manage a small team

Required profile

• Experience in operational or industrial HR environments, ideally mining
• Experience in regional environments and familiarity with FIFO/DIDO cultures
• HR generalist skill set and a practical approach
• Ability to work closely with operations to support site performance and lead wider group initiatives at the site
