Site Engineer – Renewable Energy (Solar & Battery)

About the role

Equans is expanding its on‑site team for solar farm and battery projects across Australia. Reporting to the Solar or Battery Project Operations Manager, the Site Engineer will lead the electrical design and implementation of renewable energy installations.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and review electrical systems, equipment and installations for solar and storage projects.
• Prepare calculations, drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
• Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments and technical evaluations.
• Support project execution from concept design through commissioning and hand‑over.
• Ensure compliance with relevant electrical codes, standards and safety requirements.
• Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, consultants and internal stakeholders.
• Perform site inspections, testing, troubleshooting and commissioning activities.
• Monitor project schedules, budgets and quality, and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Provide technical support during construction, operation and maintenance phases.
• Prepare engineering reports and present findings to stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 3–10 years of relevant engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of electrical design principles and industry standards.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and engineering documentation.
• Fluent English; experience working in Australia is an advantage.
