Shop Supervisor (Retail) - Taringa

About the role

Lifeline Queensland, part of the UnitingCare family, is recruiting a Retail Supervisor for its Taringa store. The role is permanent and full time, working Tuesday to Saturday, and sits within a network of 120 stores across Queensland that sell donated goods to support crisis support and suicide prevention services. The hourly rate is $29.45 plus superannuation, NFP salary packaging and a commission program for high performers.

Key responsibilities

• Demonstrate a passion for Lifeline and promote its purpose and value to the community
• Manage all aspects of the retail operation and delegate responsibilities so that business practices and sales targets are met
• Work with staff and volunteers to review pricing, visual merchandising, promotions and selling techniques
• Maintain effective communication with the team, regional support and external stakeholders, and help handle customer complaints and enquiries
• Identify issues and opportunities from selling and customer feedback, set objectives and prioritise tasks
• Coach and develop direct reports daily, linking development goals to business objectives

Required profile

• Passion for Lifeline and ability to articulate its purpose
• Retail management experience, or hospitality management with a retail background, including coaching and mentoring
• High level of customer service and enthusiasm for learning store fundamentals such as customer service, visual presentation, online marketing and stock control
• Strong problem-solving, influencing and prioritisation skills

Required skills

• Ability to use retail business systems, POS and Microsoft Office
