Shift Technician

About the role

As a Shift Technician at Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour, you will ensure that all guest rooms, public areas and service facilities are maintained to the highest standards of luxury, safety and comfort. You will work behind the scenes to keep the hotel operating smoothly during your shift, responding quickly to maintenance requests and preventing issues before they affect guests.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine and corrective maintenance tasks including plumbing, painting, HVAC servicing and general upkeep.
• Conduct regular inspections of equipment, machinery and building systems to identify potential problems early.
• Manage tools, supplies and materials efficiently, ensuring all work areas are kept tidy and safe.
• Assist with event set‑ups and room configurations, supporting the operations team during special occasions.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and regulatory standards, documenting work performed and reporting any hazards.
• Collaborate closely with other engineering team members, communicating clearly about tasks and priorities.
