Service Supervisor - Workshop and Field Service

About the role

Komatsu Australia is looking for a Service Supervisor to join its Gladstone team. This is a people leadership and operational management role, not a hands-on technical position. You will oversee about 32 team members across Workshop and Field Service, with four Leading Hands reporting directly to you.

Key responsibilities

• Scheduling, coaching and developing people
• Managing work in progress (WIP)
• Forecasting and reporting on productivity and utilisation
• Supporting customers when issues need escalation

Required profile

• Mechanical trade qualification, including mechanical fitting
• Experience supervising, leading or coordinating people in a technical or trades-based environment
• Background in workshop, field service, fleet maintenance or similar service operations
• Experience does not need to come from mining or construction equipment; heavy vehicle, agriculture, road transport, automotive and other technical service backgrounds are welcome

Required skills

• Strong communication skills and the ability to coach, support and develop others
• Understanding of workflow, WIP, productivity and operational performance
• Customer-focused approach with strong organisational and problem-solving skills
• Commitment to safety, quality workmanship and continuous improvement
