Service Sales & Tendering Specialist

About the role

HITACHI ENERGY AUSTRALIA PTY LTD is looking for a commercially astute and technically capable Service Sales and Tendering Specialist in Brisbane, Queensland. The role leads the preparation of bids and tenders, develops commercially attractive service solutions and coordinates stakeholders across sales, engineering, operations and legal, supporting profitable service growth.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end preparation of responses to customer enquiries, requests for quotation and formal tenders.
• Coordinate technical, commercial, operational and contractual inputs to deliver accurate, compliant proposals.
• Develop optimised service solutions that match customer requirements with available technical capabilities.
• Translate customer needs into clear scopes, deliverables and execution strategies.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates, pricing models and commercial offers while maintaining profitability.
• Conduct margin analysis and identify ways to improve cost competitiveness.
• Review commercial terms and conditions with legal and other stakeholders, and identify and mitigate technical, commercial and contractual risks.
• Support Sales and Business Unit teams in embedding service offerings in broader customer proposals.
• Contribute to bid reviews, win-and-loss analysis and the improvement of tendering tools, templates and processes.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in tendering, proposals, commercial management, service sales or a comparable position.
• Technical understanding of service solutions, preferably in the electrical, energy or related industrial sector.
• Ability to manage multiple bids and competing priorities within tight submission deadlines.
• Strong stakeholder management and project coordination skills, and the ability to work across sales, engineering, operations and legal teams.

Required skills

• Costing, pricing, margin analysis and financial modelling.
• Working knowledge of contractual terms, commercial risk and contract-management principles.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, able to present complex technical and commercial information.
