Service Engineering Lead/Manager - Medical

About the role

A specialist healthcare technology company is looking for a Service Lead/Manager to lead a team of Field Service Technicians and Technical Support Specialists across Australia. The role covers overseeing service operations, coordinating field activities, analysing performance metrics and ensuring customers receive excellent support, including major healthcare equipment installations. Up to 30% of the time involves travel across Australia.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and mentor a team of Field Service Technicians and Technical Support Specialists
• Schedule work assignments and coordinate calendars for customer service requests and large-scale installations
• Track and report key performance indicators covering all department activities
• Analyse service quality, including response times, on-site visit lead times and first-time issue resolution rates
• Ensure the team vehicle fleet operates properly and maintain it, and take part in inventory counts
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimise service delivery and operational efficiency
• Travel up to 30% across Australia for customer visits and site support

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Engineering with relevant technical experience
• 5 to 10 years of experience in product repair, technical support and service operations
• Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel across Australia as required
• Senior Engineers looking to move into a Lead/Management position are also considered
