About the role
The Hosting Server team at ASX is looking for a Server Specialist to provide technical support and administration of critical Linux‑based server environments. You will work on‑site at ASX data‑centre locations, ensuring system availability and security.
Key responsibilities
- Install, configure, maintain and secure Linux enterprise systems, including backup, DNS, logging and monitoring platforms.
- Support Intel hardware configuration, troubleshooting, and upgrades of physical servers.
- Develop technical standards, documentation and design infrastructure to meet availability targets.
- Implement OS patches, respond to security and operational incidents, and participate in on‑call rotation.
Required profile
- Strong experience in Linux system administration and advanced troubleshooting.
- Hands‑on experience with automation tools such as Ansible and Red Hat Satellite.
- Ability to work on physical and virtual (on‑prem and cloud) environments and follow change‑management processes.
Required skills
- Linux System Administration (RHCE/RHCA certified preferred)
- Automation: Ansible, Red Hat Satellite
- Scripting: Python
- Intel server hardware configuration and maintenance
- Cloud operations: AWS SysOps
- Containerisation: Docker, Kubernetes (nice to have)
- Networking basics: routing, switching, firewalling
