Separation Program Director
Calvary Health Care Careers · Sydney
Job description
About the role
Calvary Health Care is seeking a Senior Manager / Associate Director for its Separation & Integration Management Office (SMO), supporting the separation of a standalone business comprising 11 hospitals. Working closely with the SMO Lead as a trusted senior partner, you will help drive the separation forward, provide oversight across the programme and shape how the SMO operates as priorities evolve. The role combines strategic thinking, governance, analysis, stakeholder management and hands-on delivery, from preparing Board and Executive materials to resolving complex issues. It is a 12-month fixed-term opportunity with hybrid/flexible working.
Key responsibilities
- Partner with the SMO Lead as a trusted senior partner, offering an independent perspective, constructive challenge and ownership of agreed actions.
- Maintain oversight of the separation, including milestones, dependencies, risks and pressure points, and connect activity across workstreams.
- Translate ambiguity into clear plans, establish priorities, clarify ownership and resolve blockers.
- Develop high-quality Board, Executive and governance materials and test the quality and accuracy of reported progress.
- Build trusted relationships across workstreams, hospital teams, corporate functions and senior stakeholders and influence decisions.
- Act as a point of contact for complex, stalled or unclear issues, diagnosing problems and driving them to resolution.
- Provide hands-on support to workstream teams and proactively identify and escalate emerging risks.
- Help shape the SMO's governance, reporting, ways of working and information flows.
Required profile
- An experienced, commercially minded leader with strong analytical skills and sound judgement.
- Ability to make quick decisions and navigate competing priorities.
- Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to build structure in evolving environments.
- Ability to question assumptions and raise difficult issues while maintaining strong relationships.
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders without relying on formal authority.
Required skills
- Executive communication: translating complex issues into clear insights and recommendations for senior audiences.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills to identify root causes and dependencies.
- Pragmatism, initiative and discretion with sensitive matters.
What we offer
- NFP salary packaging benefits, discounted health insurance and gym memberships.
- Paid parental leave.
- Training, development pathways and career opportunities.
- Flexible hours.
Candidates must complete pre-employment checks, including reference checks, work rights, criminal history, NDIS/WWCC/WWVP checks and a health evaluation, and provide evidence of required immunisation.
