Senior Water Resources Engineer (Flood)

About the role

Jacobs is seeking a Senior Water Resources Engineer (Flood) to join its fast‑growing ANZ Water Resources team, based in either Perth or Brisbane. The role leads water resources projects, collaborates across disciplines, and delivers high‑profile, challenging work in natural resource management and major infrastructure design.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage water resources projects, overseeing budget, timeline and quality.
• Prepare proposals, bid documents, risk assessments and method statements.
• Provide technical input on civil design and flood modelling, including data collation, analysis and GIS tasks.
• Engage with clients, stakeholders and regulators to support technical delivery and present findings.
• Author complex assessments, reports and conduct report reviews.
• Coach and mentor junior staff in flood modelling techniques.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering.
• Previous experience in a resources environment.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation and policies.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for client and stakeholder interaction.

Required skills

• Proficiency with industry‑standard flood modelling software such as Tuflow, HEC‑RAS and RORB.
• Experience with spatial/GIS analysis and presentation.
