Senior Traffic Engineer

About the role

A local Sydney Council is recruiting a Senior Traffic Engineer through Ivory Group on a 6-month contract starting immediately, with possible extension. The role helps manage the council's backlog of traffic-related enquiries from internal and external stakeholders, supports grant applications for Black Spot funding and contributes to road safety, parking, pedestrian and traffic improvement projects. Potential work-from-home days are available.

Key responsibilities

• Review development proposals and assess applications for grant funding
• Prepare reports for Traffic Committees and Local Forums
• Investigate traffic-related matters and give clear, practical advice to stakeholders
• Liaise with customers, the council and the General Manager to address enquiries and share key outcomes

Required profile

• Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualifications
• Previous experience in local government is highly desirable
• High level of attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD
