Senior Tax Accountant – Group Finance

About the role

Bapcor Ltd is seeking a Senior Group Tax Accountant to join its Group Finance team in Melbourne. Reporting to the Head of Tax, you will act as the in‑house taxation specialist across the Bapcor Group, covering income tax, GST, FBT, transfer pricing and tax‑effect accounting.

Key responsibilities

• Manage Australian tax compliance, including income tax returns, BAS/GST, FBT and transfer‑pricing filings.
• Support international tax compliance for New Zealand, Singapore and Thailand.
• Prepare tax‑effect accounting (IAS 12) for half‑year and year‑end reporting.
• Assist with tax disclosures, including the annual Tax Transparency Report.
• Provide tax advice to Finance, Commercial and Group functions.
• Support tax governance, controls testing and risk management under the Tax Governance Framework.
• Monitor tax legislation changes and advise the business.
• Assist with ATO reviews, audits and M&A activities, including integration and process improvements.

Required profile

• CA or CPA qualification with a degree in Accounting, Commerce or Law.
• 4‑5+ years of corporate tax experience, strong knowledge of Australian tax law.
• Commercially aware and able to work in a fast‑paced, complex environment.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience with large ERP systems (HFM, Oracle preferred).
• Tax‑effect accounting (IAS 12) expertise.
• Transfer‑pricing knowledge.
• GST and FBT compliance experience.
• Familiarity with tax governance frameworks and ATO audit processes.
