Senior Tax Accountant – 6-Month Contract (Hybrid)

About the role

We are seeking a technically strong Senior Tax Accountant to join a market-leading Australian organisation for a six-month contract. The role sits within a high-performing tax function and works closely with senior tax leaders across Australia and New Zealand on corporate tax, GST, reporting and strategic projects.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and support corporate income tax returns for a complex group structure.
• Perform tax effect accounting, calculate deferred tax and produce quarterly tax reports.
• Manage GST, withholding tax and other ongoing compliance obligations.
• Contribute to tax remediation and historical rectification projects.
• Assist with ATO review and audit preparation activities.
• Support tax governance, transfer pricing and thin-capitalisation initiatives.
• Partner with finance and operational stakeholders on tax-related matters.
• Participate in tax transformation and process-improvement projects.

Required profile

• CA or CPA qualified.
• At least 4 years of experience in Big 4, mid-tier or commercial tax environments.
• Strong knowledge of Australian corporate tax and GST legislation.
• High analytical ability and attention to detail.
• Ability to work autonomously while collaborating with diverse stakeholders.
