Senior Systems Administrator – Windows & Linux (6‑Month Contract)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Systems Administrator to join a leading financial services organisation on a 6‑month contract. The role is hands‑on, supporting a large‑scale Windows and Linux server estate and driving security improvements through patching, vulnerability remediation and infrastructure hardening.

Key responsibilities

• Administer Windows and Linux server environments across the enterprise.
• Perform operating system patching and lifecycle management.
• Manage enterprise patching tools such as Red Hat Satellite, Ivanti, SCCM/MECM, WSUS and similar technologies.
• Support vulnerability remediation and security uplift initiatives.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure issues and provide operational support.
• Collaborate with security and platform teams to maintain compliance and minimise risk.
• Identify and implement process improvements and automation where appropriate.

Required profile

• Proven experience in large, complex enterprise environments.
• Strong Windows and Linux systems administration background.
• Hands‑on experience with enterprise patch management solutions.
• Exposure to security remediation and vulnerability management programmes.
• Excellent troubleshooting and stakeholder management skills.
• Previous experience in financial services or other regulated industries is a plus.
