Senior Systems Administrator

About the role

Avant is seeking an experienced Senior Systems Administrator to join its Technology team in a hybrid role based in Sydney or Melbourne. You will be responsible for maintaining a secure, resilient and high‑performing enterprise environment across on‑premises, cloud and hybrid platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and support enterprise infrastructure across Azure, virtualised and on‑prem environments.
• Administer Windows Server, Active Directory, Entra ID (Azure AD) and Linux platforms.
• Support VMware, storage, backup, disaster recovery and business continuity capabilities.
• Implement security controls aligned to APRA CPS 230, CPS 234 and industry best practices.
• Drive patching, monitoring, vulnerability management and operational excellence initiatives.
• Assist with audits, regulatory reviews and technology risk management activities.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in Systems Administration, Infrastructure Engineering or a similar role.
• Strong expertise with Windows Server, Active Directory, Entra ID and Microsoft technologies.
• Experience supporting Azure cloud services and hybrid environments.
• Background in regulated financial services environments and knowledge of APRA CPS 230/234.
