Senior System Engineer – VMware Project (Remote)

About the role

We are looking for experienced Senior System Engineers to join a high‑profile, 12‑month contract delivering a major VMware implementation. The role is fully remote and requires an NV1 security clearance and Australian citizenship.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and implement VMware‑virtualised environments.
• Administer and maintain VMware technologies including vSphere, ESXi, vCenter and related components.
• Leverage VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) expertise to support the solution.
• Perform troubleshooting, performance tuning and capacity planning.
• Support upgrades, migrations and patching activities.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, network and security teams to ensure compliance with security standards.

Required profile

• Multiple years of experience as a Systems Engineer in enterprise or government settings.
• Background in professional services delivery.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Australian citizenship and NV1 (or higher) security clearance.

Required skills

• Strong hands‑on experience with VMware vSphere.
• Proficiency in VMware ESXi.
• Experience with VMware vCenter.
• Knowledge of VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) and related certification preferred.
