Senior System Engineer – ICT System Administrator

About the role

Azooa is looking for an experienced ICT System Administrator to support a Defence electronic warfare environment at RAAF Edinburgh. This hands‑on position blends daily server, workstation and network administration with infrastructure upgrades and security accreditation work.

Key responsibilities

• Administer Windows servers and workstations – account management, patching, desktop imaging and WSUS.
• Configure firewalls, switching and network segmentation using Palo Alto technologies.
• Apply ISM and ACSC guidance to balance security controls with operational needs.
• Develop and maintain certification, accreditation and system documentation.
• Support Linux upgrades, virtualization, monitoring, logging and endpoint security.
• Create SOPs, build instructions, deliver training and transfer knowledge to permanent staff.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on experience with Windows, Windows Server and networking.
• In‑depth knowledge of the Information Security Manual and ACSC guidance.
• Experience producing security accreditation documentation.
• Excellent troubleshooting, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a technical team.
• Current Australian Government NV2 (or higher) security clearance.
