Senior System Administrator FSR (Field Service Representative)

About the role

Raytheon Australia is seeking a Senior System Administrator FSR (Field Service Representative) to support the Australian Defence Force's Joint Data Networks mission. The role works with the 1JDNU organisation to resolve system technical issues on the JP9347 JIC System program, which exchanges tactical, operational and strategic data across the Joint Force and coalition partners, including situational awareness and command and control information. The position is based in Canberra and involves on-site system administration, field support for testing and training, and helpdesk duties.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical support to ADF operators and maintainers through on-site support, field support as required and helpdesk services.
• Perform maintenance on the JIC System and run system upgrades when requested by ADF maintainers.
• Ensure compliance with Defence and Raytheon Australia policies on Global Trade, EHS&W and Finance.
• Coordinate with the customer to arrange travel as required.
• Assist in training and mentoring System Administrators, including delivering training and ongoing mentoring when required.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years' experience in complex IT system maintenance and administration.
• Previous experience as a Level 2 or Level 3 Network Engineer administering a bespoke network.
• Understanding of IT systems, networks, user administration and software management.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an NV2 security clearance.
• Willingness to travel interstate, sometimes for extended periods of two to three weeks at a time.

Required skills

• System administration qualifications such as CCNA/P (Cisco Certified Network Associate/Professional) in routing and switching, Service Provider or higher, or equivalent.
• Windows/Domain: MSCA or equivalent.
• VMware: VCP or equivalent.
• SIEM.
• Desirable: knowledge of radio frequencies, networking, modems and communications technologies.
