Senior Structural Engineer - Mining & Resources

About the role

Aurecon is recruiting a Senior Structural Engineer for its Mining & Resources team in Brisbane. You will contribute to projects and programs that deliver infrastructure and assets, working on major bulk materials handling projects and complex industrial, resources and emerging market initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver innovative structural engineering solutions across major bulk materials handling projects.
• Lead projects and design packages, staying hands-on and owning delivery and outcomes.
• Work with clients to define project scopes, develop solutions and deliver results.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across geographies on complex technical challenges.
• Provide technical guidance, mentoring and coaching to emerging engineers and the wider team.

Required profile

• Relevant engineering qualifications and experience in Structural Engineering, including RPEQ.
• Experience in mining, resources or heavy industrial infrastructure is highly regarded, especially for bulk materials handling facilities and their structural assets.
• Track record of taking ownership and delivering practical, impactful outcomes.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build lasting client relationships.
• Ability to see the big picture and challenge assumptions.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of engineering software such as Spacegass, FEA (Strand 7/ANSYS), parametric modelling (Rhino/Grasshopper) and 3D model interrogation (Navisworks/ACC).
