Senior Structural Engineer – Buildings

About the role

Aurecon is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join its Buildings team in Perth. You will be responsible for delivering complex building structures from concept through detailed design and construction support across a diverse portfolio that includes hospitals, schools, high‑rise commercial towers and defence facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design packages for building structures, ensuring compliance with Australian Standards and the NCC.
• Collaborate closely with architects, multidisciplinary engineers and offshore delivery teams.
• Coordinate design reviews, manage interfaces, and maintain quality, schedule and budget targets.
• Engage directly with clients and stakeholders to shape outcomes and support business development.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a high‑performance team culture.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in Australian building projects such as hospitals, schools, commercial high‑rise or defence facilities.
• Strong knowledge of relevant standards (AS/NZS 1170, AS 4100, AS 3600, AS 3700, AS 1684, AS/NZS 5131).
• Proven ability to lead structural delivery, coordinate packages and manage interfaces.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for producing calculations, design reports and client documentation.
