Senior Specialist, Synthetic Audience

About the role

Experience Insights (EXI) is a multidisciplinary research function covering UX research, Customer Experience and Behavioral Science, helping Resmed teams understand user and provider needs. As EXI moves toward an AI-powered enablement function, this individual contributor role owns the creation, maintenance, evaluation and responsible application of AI insight agents and synthetic audience capabilities within EXI.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain synthetic audience capabilities that help teams explore early hypotheses, pressure-test concepts and accelerate discovery without replacing human research.
• Define guardrails for synthetic audience use, including when synthetic audiences are appropriate, when human research is required and how outputs should be interpreted.
• Evaluate synthetic audience outputs for quality, usefulness, source grounding, completeness, bias, overclaiming, hallucination risk and alignment to EXI evidence standards.
• Create test questions, evaluation routines, feedback loops and improvement backlogs to keep synthetic audiences useful and trustworthy.
• Partner with UX researchers so agent experiences reflect real customer and provider evidence.
• Work with Engineering, Data Science/AI, Product and platform teams on technical requirements, integration, deployment and support for AI-enabled tools.
• Create guidance, training and onboarding materials for Product and non-Product stakeholders on using synthetic audiences responsibly.
• Support users by answering questions, gathering feedback and improving how people access and apply AI-enabled intelligence.
• Help define standards for what AI agents should answer, what should go to human research and what stays outside AI workflows.

Required profile

• Highly autonomous, technically minded and self-directed, comfortable as a senior individual contributor in a new domain.
• Strong UX researcher with deep research judgment, methodological rigor and customer empathy; able to judge whether AI-generated output reflects real evidence.
• Hands-on AI agent builder who has built agents, automations, simulations or research tools and can turn research workflows into trustworthy, source-grounded agents.
• Comfortable partnering with UX, VOC, BeSci, Product, Engineering, Data Science/AI and platform teams.
• Effective educator who can help others know when to use synthetic audiences, when to rely on existing evidence and when to engage human research.
