Senior Software Engineer (Web)

About the role

ANZ is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to design, build and enhance customer‑centric web applications that help millions of users manage their money and interact with ANZ products. You will work in a collaborative environment alongside engineers, designers, product managers and business stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Craft high‑quality, accessible web experiences using React, Next.js and TypeScript.
• Drive technical excellence through automated testing, observability and continuous delivery.
• Contribute to the evolution of ANZ's front‑end architecture, platform standards and AI‑assisted engineering practices.
• Mentor and coach engineers, influencing technical direction across the team.
• Collaborate with marketing, design, security, architecture and backend teams to deliver shared outcomes.

Required profile

• Extensive front‑end engineering experience with a strong commercial background.
• Proven ability to mentor engineers and influence technical decisions.
• Customer‑focused mindset with knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA or higher).
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills in an Agile environment.
