Senior Software Engineer, EOS

About the role

Arista Networks is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join its Extensible Operating System (EOS) team in Sydney. You will design, develop, and deliver core networking features that run on the world’s largest data‑center networks.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and develop innovative networking features in C/C++ and Python for Arista’s Linux‑based EOS.
• Collaborate with product management, customers, and engineering peers to define functional requirements and technical designs.
• Write functional specifications, design documents, test plans, and automated tests to ensure high‑quality code.
• Own projects from definition through deployment, including troubleshooting and fixing customer‑reported issues.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering (BSc, MSc, or PhD).
• Strong software development experience in C/C++ and/or Python.
• Deep understanding of operating systems and systems programming in a UNIX/Linux environment.
• Passion for computer networking technologies and strong analytical/problem‑solving skills.
