Senior Software Engineer – Business Accounts

About the role

Airwallex is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to help build the intelligent orchestration layer for its Business Accounts ecosystem. This role focuses on connecting cash, yield, lending, and other product surfaces into a unified financial experience for business customers.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to architecture and long‑term technical vision for backend systems, defining engineering strategy and framework selection.
• Own end‑to‑end delivery of core investment workflows, from design through production.
• Build and maintain mission‑critical financial infrastructure such as reconciliation controls, unit registries, and investment ledgers.
• Write high‑quality, testable code with strong emphasis on reliability, observability, API design and integration rails.
• Collaborate with product, infrastructure and design teams to ensure optimal business customer experience.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or related field.
• Experience solving distributed systems challenges (scalability, consistency, latency).

Required skills

• Kotlin with Vert.x, Temporal and Kafka.
• Cloud platforms (GCP or AWS), Docker, Kubernetes.
• Observability tooling such as Splunk, New Relic, Prometheus, Grafana.
• Automated testing and quality control processes.
