Senior Social Worker - Mental Health (Part Time)

About the role

The Peninsula Care Group Mental Health and Wellbeing Service (MHWS) is looking for a Grade 5 Social Worker to act as Discipline Lead. The role is based at Peninsula University Hospital in Frankston, with occasional travel to other Peninsula Care group sites, and is part-time at 3 days per week.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and foster clinical excellence in social work services across the MHWS
• Develop and evaluate innovative social work practices while contributing to the interdisciplinary leadership of the service
• Help shape a culture of clinical excellence, collaboration and exceptional consumer care

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Social Work and eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
• Achieved or working towards a post-graduate Masters qualification in a relevant professional area
• At least 7 years of post-graduate experience in clinical mental health, including prior experience in senior clinical roles
• Demonstrated advanced level of recognised clinical and leadership experience

Required skills

• Expert knowledge of applying social work theory to practice
• Proficiency in psychosocial assessment, intervention, counselling, case management and discharge planning
