Senior Site Reliability Engineer (Platform Engineering/DevOps)

About the role

As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer you will own reliability and infrastructure strategy across the organisation, influencing every engineering team’s ability to ship at scale. You will work closely with software, security and other stakeholders to ensure production systems are reliable, efficient and secure.

Key responsibilities

• Drive infrastructure and reliability strategy aligned with business outcomes such as revenue protection and developer velocity.
• Architect multi‑region, multi‑AZ infrastructure on AWS and GCP with clear failover and disaster‑recovery plans.
• Define observability standards, build tooling and dashboards, and own SLOs and error budgets.
• Lead major incident response, post‑mortems and continuous‑improvement culture.
• Reduce operational toil by building automation and self‑service platforms.
• Mentor engineers, raise production ownership standards and apply AI‑assisted development to infrastructure problems.
• Drive cloud cost optimisation and FinOps practices at an organisational level.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in SRE, Platform Engineering or DevOps.
• Proven ability to set and enforce SRE and platform standards across teams.
• Strong technical judgement, proactive risk management and collaborative communication.

Required skills

• AWS and/or GCP deep expertise.
• Infrastructure‑as‑code with Terraform.
• Containerisation (Docker) and Kubernetes at scale.
• Observability tools: Datadog, Elasticsearch, Prometheus, Grafana.
• Scripting with Bash and programming in Python or Go.
• Linux systems, networking and distributed system architecture.
• CI/CD, release automation and disaster‑recovery design.
• Cloud cost optimisation / FinOps.
• Experience with AI‑driven development tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude, Gemini).
