Senior Site Reliability Engineer

About the role

As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer you will own reliability, availability and performance of CMC Markets' trading platforms that support millions of decisions. You will embed SRE practices, drive automation and improve observability across large‑scale systems.

Key responsibilities

• Establish, maintain and report on SLIs, SLOs and error budgets to improve service reliability.
• Lead incident response, post‑incident reviews and root‑cause analysis, and produce runbooks and playbooks.
• Improve observability standards using metrics, logs, distributed tracing and dashboards, driving OpenTelemetry adoption.
• Reduce operational toil through automation, safe deployments, self‑service tooling and reusable infrastructure as code.
• Partner with engineering teams to design reliable architectures, manage change risk and enhance performance, scalability and capacity.
• Design, build and maintain Terraform‑based infrastructure and support large‑scale .NET and TypeScript applications.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps or platform engineering supporting production systems.
• Strong problem‑solving skills, calm incident handling and ability to influence system design at scale.
• Excellent communication, documentation and mentoring abilities.

Required skills

• OpenTelemetry implementation and observability design.
• Monitoring/alerting tools such as Prometheus, Grafana or Application Insights.
• Infrastructure automation with Terraform.
• .NET ecosystem (C#, ASP.NET.NET Core) and TypeScript.
• Experience with Golang or Python.
• AWS cloud services.
• CI/CD pipeline experience.
