Senior School EAL/D and History Teacher (FTC)

About the role

Inspired Education is recruiting a 12-month fixed-term EAL/D and History teacher for its Bondi campus. The teacher supports students in Years 10-12, helping them achieve academic success, build confidence in their English language proficiency and understand historical concepts, events and perspectives. Lessons are delivered in an inclusive, student-centred way that encourages critical thinking and historical inquiry.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, differentiated EAL/D and History lessons that support English language development and historical understanding.
• Differentiate learning to meet diverse language proficiency levels, academic abilities and individual learning needs.
• Assess and monitor student progress in EAL/D and History, using data to inform teaching and improve outcomes.
• Collaborate with colleagues to support EAL/D learners and promote literacy across the curriculum.
• Integrate technology and innovative teaching strategies to enhance engagement and learning.
• Provide timely feedback and keep accurate assessment, reporting and student records.
• Foster an inclusive, culturally responsive environment and build partnerships with students, families and colleagues.
• Help develop and review EAL/D and History curriculum programs, resources and initiatives.
• Keep up to date with NESA requirements, EAL/D pedagogy and History best practice through ongoing professional learning.

Required profile

• A degree in English, English Literature or a related field.
• A teaching qualification such as a Master of Secondary Teaching or Bachelor of Education.
• Proven experience teaching English with a strong record of student outcomes.
• Experience using assessment data to inform teaching and improve achievement.
• Valid Working with Children Check.
• Willingness to provide lunch and playground cover and to attend school events outside regular hours.
