Senior RTW Womenswear Designer – Sydney

About the role

We are seeking a highly creative Senior Womenswear Designer to lead the Ready‑to‑Wear (RTW) category for a contemporary Australian fashion brand. Reporting to the Head of Design, you will own the design process from concept through to final product, balancing artistic vision with commercial viability.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design of contemporary RTW collections across multiple product categories.
• Research global trends, runway influences, fabric innovations and emerging market opportunities.
• Create seasonal concepts, mood boards, colour palettes and product direction aligned with the brand DNA.
• Develop detailed sketches, technical packs and product specifications.
• Collaborate with production teams, garment technicians and offshore suppliers to bring collections to life.
• Participate in fittings and oversee garment development to ensure exceptional fit and quality.
• Work with merchandising and buying teams to deliver commercially successful collections and mentor junior designers.

Required profile

• 5+ years’ experience as a Senior Designer in a contemporary or premium womenswear brand.
• Strong RTW design experience with an elevated fashion handwriting.
• Passion for contemporary fashion, tailoring, fabrication and modern silhouettes.
• Excellent trend forecasting and conceptual design abilities.
• Strong technical knowledge of garment construction, fit, fabrication and product development.
• Experience managing offshore suppliers and navigating the critical‑path product process.

Required skills

• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite.
