Senior Revenue Officer – Level 1

About the role

The Queensland Revenue Office (QRO) is hiring a permanent Senior Revenue Officer – Level 1 for its Land Tax division in Brisbane. In this senior position you will apply legislation and policy to revenue and taxation matters, support clients and help drive service delivery improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse and interpret bulk data to identify tax risks and develop treatment strategies.
• Make assessments, approve grants and respond to technical enquiries on taxation liabilities or exemptions.
• Write reports, correspondence and performance‑measure analyses to support branch objectives.
• Coach, mentor and identify training needs for team members, assisting the team leader in day‑to‑day management.
• Identify and implement operational processing improvements and support digital/data system adoption.

Required profile

• High‑level interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Ability to use information to improve work practices and support a high‑performing team.
• Strong analytical capability to review legislation and data for sound decision‑making.
• Understanding of risk‑based decision making principles.
