Senior Quantity Surveyor – Hybrid (Perth, Scotland)

About the role

Our client, a leading Tier 1 civil engineering contractor, is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a major civils project on the outskirts of Perth. The role will be hybrid, supporting the commercial team with subcontract management, cost control and contract administration.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary commercial contact for a defined area, providing advice to contract teams.
• Prepare, review and evaluate subcontract enquiries, quotations, payments and final accounts.
• Monitor actual costs against budgets, identify variances and recommend cost‑saving measures.
• Produce monthly cost variance reports (CVRs) and quarterly budgets and forecasts.
• Develop accurate cost estimates for task orders and support dispute resolution.
• Mentor and review the work of junior quantity surveyors.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor on large civil engineering projects.
• Strong commercial acumen with responsibility for subcontract packages.
• Ability to manage relationships with clients, subcontractors and supply‑chain partners.
• Experience in preparing cost estimates, budgets, forecasts and final accounts.
