Senior Quantity Surveyor – Head Contractor (ASAP Start)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a well‑established boutique cost consultancy in Sydney. The role will operate as a head contractor on commercial refurbishment and fit‑out projects, delivering commercial objectives and providing strategic advice to tier‑1 and tier‑2 clients.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and submit head‑contract payment claims and variations.
• Support scope development for subcontractors, consultants and suppliers.
• Assist the procurement process and manage registers of subcontract variations.
• Oversee subcontractor and supplier payments and prepare payment schedules.
• Produce financial reports, manage cost, cash‑flow and forecasting.
• Provide support on quantum calculations and construction‑related dispute matters.
• Perform contracts administration throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar senior role, either within a head‑contractor or cost‑consultancy environment.
• Strong attention to detail and good negotiation abilities.
• Well‑developed interpersonal skills with excellent verbal and written communication.
