Senior Quality Assurance Specialist – Food Production

About the role

True Protein is looking for a Senior Quality Assurance Specialist to own and evolve the quality function across its manufacturing site. This hands‑on position ensures products meet the highest industry standards, drives continuous improvement, and embeds a culture of quality excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and enhance the Quality Management System (QMS) in line with GMP, HACCP and WHS requirements.
• Manage the full quality lifecycle: product release, deviations, investigations, CAPAs, change controls, customer complaints and out‑of‑spec results.
• Prepare, review and control batch documentation, protocols, validation records and other GMP‑related documents.
• Lead internal, external and supplier audits, and follow up on corrective actions.
• Oversee vendor qualification and supplier quality activities.
• Align QA priorities with business goals, update the Food Safety & Quality Plan and lead root‑cause investigations and risk assessments.
• Track quality metrics and KQIs, providing guidance to the wider team.
• Perform in‑process quality assurance (IPQA), manage product handling, storage, distribution, retention samples and site calibration programs.
• Supervise product testing programs including microbiological, physical and chemical analyses.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Food Science, Food Technology or a related discipline (or equivalent hands‑on QA experience).
• 3‑5 years of experience in food quality assurance, preferably within a GMP‑regulated environment.
