Senior Psychologist, Adolescent Unit

About the role

Metro North Mental Health is recruiting a Senior Psychologist for its Adolescent Inpatient Unit in Brisbane. The role provides high-level, evidence-based psychological services to adolescents aged 14 to 17 years with severe and complex mental health disorders, within a multidisciplinary inpatient team. It combines specialist clinical practice with leadership, supervision and service development.

Key responsibilities

• Provide advanced psychological assessment, formulation and evidence-based interventions for adolescents with severe and complex mental health needs in an inpatient setting.
• Deliver trauma-informed, recovery-focused care, including risk assessment, care coordination, crisis intervention and individual and group therapeutic programs.
• Give expert consultation and clinical advice to multidisciplinary teams, families, carers and external stakeholders on treatment and discharge planning.
• Lead and contribute to quality improvement, research and service development initiatives.
• Provide clinical supervision, education and mentoring to psychologists, students and clinical support staff.
