Senior Psychiatrist – Intellectual & Developmental Disability (Bundaberg)

About the role

Join Wide Bay Mental Health & Specialised Services as a specialist psychiatrist providing expert, person‑centred care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. You will work within a multidisciplinary team at Bundaberg Hospital, delivering high‑quality mental health services.

Key responsibilities

• Provide psychiatric assessment and management for patients with intellectual disability or on the autism spectrum, primarily in a consultation‑liaison capacity.
• Lead professional mental‑health initiatives within a multidisciplinary environment and may include direct patient care as part of the IDD team.

Required profile

• Medical qualification from a registered tertiary institution and registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA) with a current practising certificate.
• Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) or equivalent, with maintenance of CPD and specialist registration.

Required skills

• Expertise in psychiatry, particularly in intellectual and developmental disability.
• Ability to provide professional leadership and collaborate within multidisciplinary teams.
